Babynieuws in de koninklijke familie van Bhutan

Koning Jigme Khesar en koningin Jetsun hebben een tweede zoon mogen verwelkomen. Het is nog niet bekend hoe het ventje heet.

Grote broer prins Jigme is vorige maand 4 geworden. Hij vond het erg leuk zijn nieuwe broertje voor het eerst te kunnen zien, zo wordt gemeld. Moeder Jetsun en de baby maken het goed. En het koninklijk paar heeft zowel het medisch team dat hielp bij de bevalling, als iedereen die gebeden en wensen hun kant op stuurde, bedankt.

Bij de bekendmaking van de geboorte voegde de koning ook een andere boodschap toe: “Hoewel dit een vrolijke gebeurtenis is voor de koninklijke familie, de natie en het volk van Bhutan, wil het koningspaar iedereen eraan herinneren elkaar te helpen en zorgzaam met elkaar om te gaan tijdens de Corona-crisis.”

Bhutan is een koninkrijk dat ingeklemd ligt tussen China en India. Pas in december werd de zwangerschap bekendgemaakt. Hun zoon Jigme heeft een bijzondere tweede naam: Druk Gyalsey, wat zich ongeveer laat vertalen als ‘de drakenprins’.
