Afspraak is afspraak

Jaren geleden werd de mediacode ingesteld. Daarover is sindsdien veel te doen geweest. Er zijn processen gevoerd en heel veel discussies geweest, maar uiteindelijk hebben de Oranjes toch hun zin gekregen. Alle foto’s die er van de leden van de koninklijke familie te zien zijn, worden in scène gezet en zorgvuldig geregisseerd. Ik vind dat niet slim, omdat er zo veel spontaniteit verloren is gegaan. De meeste Nederlanders vonden het best leuk om te zien dat Máxima af en toe ook gewoon naar de Hema gaat om kinderkleren te kopen of dat Willem-Alexander met vrienden op een terrasje zit. Maar dat kan dus niet meer. Ik zal u niet vermoeien met een nieuwe discussie daarover, want ik heb al lang geaccepteerd dat de mediacode onomkeerbaar is. Maar tegelijkertijd is het wel goed u eens te melden dat een deel van de koninklijke familie zich niet meer houdt aan de belofte om in ruil voor het houden aan de mediacode af en toe mee te werken aan fotomomenten. En dan heb ik het niet over Willem-Alexander en Máxima.

Ik ben er in elk geval erg blij mee en vond dat zoveel mogelijk mensen het moesten weten, ik hoop dat het goed zal verkopen want dat is dit echt waard!Ik zal de Engelse tekst van mijn bijdrages op twee royalty-related fora hierna laten volgen:
I want to draw your attention to a new publication that came on the (Dutch) market today: Koninklijke Juwelen.
It is a Royalty-Special so more a magazine than a book but it nevertheless it makes for an interesting read.
I already posted this info on another board (the Royal Jewelery Board) where Marianne started a thread about the booklet.
It is truly a beautiful booklet and I think it’s a must-have for all jewelery-addicts around!
Spain is the country that gets the smallest coverage: only 5 pages.
Belgium gets 8 pages.
Great-Britain: 12 pages.
Sweden: 10 pages.
Denmark: 6 pages.
Luxembourg: 6 pages.
Norway: 8 glorious pages.
Everything is done in the very best taste.
Lay-out and print is excelent !
Only two pages with adverts and the rest is all beautifully filled with more than 200 photo’s.
A lot of which are not just the familiar ones but taken from a slightly different angle, they have obviously choosen not to follow the most obvious route (photo-choise-wise).
I am personally very enthousiastic about it, only real downpoint is that it is “just” a magazine, it should have been a hard-cover-book!
It is magnificant!
Ofcourse it is mostly about the Dutch Royal Jewelery-collection: 55 pages filled to the brim with mostly full-colour sometimes pagefilling pictures of the Queen, Maxima and Margriet a.o.
But another 55 pages are for the other 7 European monarchies (indeed no Liechtenstein and no Monaco) in the above mentioned proportioning.
There are 5 pages about the Dutch peacock ruby Tiara, 6 pages about the ears-of-wheat-tiara, 6 about the Dutch Saphire-collection, 6 pages about the Dutch pearls-collection, 6 about the Mellerio Ruby-parure etc. etc.
Some of the pictures are breathtaking and I am sure this magazine is not just made to fill some pages to sell more copies, but someone made a labour of love out of it!
Maybe the writer Erik Schoonhoven is also a regular lurker here on this board and if so:
I compliment him with a great job done!
And I applaud the makers (Mark van der Linden) foir giving someone so much freedom to make it almost like a work of art.
I realy think all posters here should try to get hold of a copy!
It is the best 55 pages of pictures you will ever get to see about the Dutch Royal jewelery collection and combined with the 55 other pages filled with the other European collections, I think it’s more than an unique document.
It’s much better than the 6/7 pages that Majesty gave a few years ago for every monarchy’s jewelery-collection.
Or the jewelery specials made by Point-de Vue for that matter.
Let the language-thing not disturb you, it’s ofcourse in Dutch but although I am happy with most of the texts, it’s foremost a Photoalbum!
I think it is better than anything else I own in the book-department about royal jewelery, as I said it only has one flaw: it’s just a magazine
